I was born in Venezuela -so yes I’m fluent in spanish! I’ve lived in Hawai’i off and on since I was 10 - mostly on Oahu but also on Moku O Keawe (the Big Island) during my high school years. I started my college education at the University of Oregon and eventually transferred back home to the University of Hawai’i at Manoa where I graduated with a BA in Holistic Health Care. That was a self-created program that included studies in lāʻau lapaʻau, ethnobotany, anatomy & physiology, nutrition, women’s studies, biology, and medical anthropology. All the main fields I knew would prepare me for midwifery.

Delighted to meet you - My name is:

During my time in college I also studied & practiced yoga - which I infuse into my care to you as a midwife (either through breath work, vocalization, mantra or physical movement).

Herbalism is my passion. I love tending to the small land space around my home to grow medicine and food for myself and my family and to share with the families I’m blessed to serve. That is one of my way's of honoring the traditions of my ancestors. To nourish the mother, to know the foods that are most optimal for postpartum healing, to grow those plants, to be with nature and mālama 'āina.

I love playing with old film cameras! It's a hobby of mine.

My midwifery training & experience

Everything in business is learnable, fixable, and figureoutable.

You don't have to be a workaholic
to be successful. Really.

After college (literally the weekend I was supposed to walk the line for graduation ceremony) I went to an advanced midwifery training where I met my first midwifery preceptor - a naturopathic doctor and midwife - Dr. Lori Kimata. I apprenticed with her for 4.5 years. During that time I also worked with 6 other home birth providers of various types which included traditional midwives, certified professional midwives, registered nurses, and an obstetrician. During my years of apprenticeship I attended 100+ births. I concurrently completed an AA in Midwifery via the national college of midwifery and passed the NARM (the national accrediting exam for certified professional midwives). Also concurrently to that, I completed the Indie Birth Midwifery School - a 2 year program that served as continuing education for me. I also spent about 2 months at Luna Tierra birth center in El paso Texas. I’m forever thankful to all my in person and virtual teachers and all the mothers, babies and families that helped shaped me into the midwife I am today.
